My favorite assignment was when we used Tableau to analyze a data set.

This is a summary of my own data set: With the given data, this visualization can show where more resources are needed, or need to be cut, for a given church group. A priest could take this data and show parishioners where to move in order to get to a church of their liking. It also shows where a priest could expand their work, or where a bigger chapel could send resources for a struggling chapel.
I would recommend watching this video in order to fully grasp the functionalities of Tableau.
I really did enjoy the discussions of the articles in this class. Summaries of some of those discussions below.

Sports Analytics: The discussion focused on data analytics, and it made use of sports analytics to show a real world example of sports analytics. This example showed a concrete use of analytics and how it is being successful in its growth.

Harrah: This discussion was on how IT helped the Harrah organization in the gambling industry. Basically, the use of IT helped Harrah centralize its various properties’ data in order to better their business model. As to whether or not Harrah would have survived without this IT help, many said that they would, but the organization would not thrive. Many people had interesting examples of companies with great marketing strategies, such as Netflix, Nike, Amazon, and Kwik Trip.

The most difficult project in this class for me, was the first project because I had never encountered nested IF functions in excel. It took me hours to figure out how create the function at the top of the screenshot on the right.
